STINNETT HOUSE

Stinnett House Project - WHS acquired the Stinnett House in 2017.  The years of neglect have taken their toll on this old Victorian beauty.  Columns supporting the inviting wrap-around porch now lie in shambles.  The sunroom that once hosted afternoon tea parties and children's birthday parties now has rotting floors and leaking windows.  The architecturally significant cantilever staircase that once saw children running up and down during happier times is now moldy.

The Whitesville Historical Society's plan is to restore the home to its late 1800's condition.  This is a substantial project and we ask for your support in completing this restoration.

Current restoration progress such as porch floor and ceiling resurfacing, front gutters, and porch foundation brick tuck pointing has been completed.  Donations and fundraising events are needed for additional weatherizing projects such as exterior painting, repair or replacement of 50+ windows, and more gutter repair.  Fourteen porch columns are in need of restoration also.

Whitesville Historical Society is a 501(C)3 non-profit organization.  All donations are tax deductible, and are greatly appreciated!
